OODAkits come pre-configured to automatically establish a background IP connection after being powered up and registering on the Inmarsat BGAN network.
Therefore, starting LaunchPad is not necessary for registering on the BGAN network. In fact, using LaunchPad can interfere with the automatically established connection.
If it is desired to use Launchpad, it is best to reconfigure the OODAkit’s BGAN terminal settings to NOT automatically establish the background IP connection.
(Consult the Thrane & Thrane Explorer 500 manual for details or contact us).
In this case, LaunchPad would be used and configured to launch the initial connection be it background IP or streaming mode.
